Cradle to Cradle

Cradle to Cradle is a biomimetic approach to the design and manufacture of products and systems. By modeling manufacturing based on natural processes, Tandus Centiva views materials as nutrients circulating in healthy, safe metabolisms. Put simply, Cradle to Cradle is a holistic approach that, when applied to manufacturing, creates systems that are efficient, waste free and produce healthy products.

“The Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Product Standard guides designers and manufacturers through a continual improvement process that looks at a product through five quality categories — material health, material reutilization, renewable energy and carbon management, water stewardship, and social fairness. A product receives an achievement level in each category — Basic, Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum — with the lowest achievement level representing the product’s overall mark.”

Carbonfree Certification

Our Carbonfree® Flooring program allows customers the option to purchase their products as carbon neutral or “carbonfree” through a registered and credible program. Purchasing carbon free products means that the greenhouse gas emissions related to the entire life cycle of the product have been offset. Working in conjunction with Carbonfund.org and INSF International, third-party validated carbon offset credits are purchased and retired to offset the greenhouse gases associated with the product's life cycle. For more information, contact your local Tandus Centiva account executive. A certificate will be provided to Carbonfree projects. More information at Carbonfund.org

FloorScore®

All Tandus Centiva LVT products are FloorScore® certified. FloorScore® certification means that a resilient flooring product is independently certified by SCS Global Services to comply with the volatile organic compound emissions criteria of the California Section 01350 program.

The ISO 9001 Standard for quality management systems is designed to help organizations ensure that they meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders while meeting statutory and regulatory requirements related to a product. The process encompasses the entire organization and requires senior management buy-in, it is not just a function of the Quality Department. To achieve ISO 9001, Tandus Centiva’s Florence, AL facility has demonstrated that it meets the regulatory requirements and applies the system effectively to be of real benefit to our customers.

ISO 14001

ISO 14001 sets out the criteria for an Environmental Management System (EMS). It does not state requirements for environmental performance but maps out a framework that a company or organization can follow to set environmental initiatives with a goal of continual improvement. It is used by Tandus Centiva to improve effectiveness of resource use, eliminate emissions and waste and reduce costs. Using ISO 14001 can provide assurance to company management and employees as well as external stakeholders that environmental impact is being measured and improved.
